Needed a Scroll Saw and thought I'd give this a try. Well I tried and then returned. Barely enough power to move the blade.

Not impressed at all. Barely would cut soft 5/16 pine. I tried several times with very poor results.

So I'm moving into a different brand, different power amps. Stay tuned.

Almost all entry level scroll saws use the same size motor and will bog down, especially in thicker, harder wood. Also, most saws come with cheap blades that don't work very well. Performance can be improved with good blades, but saws like the Harbor Freight model also have a drawback when using pinless blades: the process of changing blades or doing interior cuts is a real pain. If you want a quality saw, you will need to look at saws costing above $400. Hope this helps.

I sold my first scroll saw about sixteen years ago. My husband bought this for me a couple of years ago. It's awful! It vibrates so much and it takes me fifteen minutes to cut a wood animal design from a 2x6. So tiring to use.

Bought one, lasted 60 days and the tightness know has stripped and won’t tighten the blade anymore. It’s a piece of crap. Made out of pot metal. Do not buy!
