I was playing last night and it happened to me, 3090 FTW3 on a custom water loop.

Screen went black, sound was still on, I did a hard reset, screen still black. Did a full power down, turned it back on and that worked. I think I was saved by the fact that I was playing while on MSI Afterburner I had the Power Limit set to 75% and on windowed mode at 1440p on a 4k display.

This is not an issue with the game! This is bad engineering from Nvidia and EVGA. This is especially concerning since EVGA is a major Nvidia partner.

Graphics cards have safety measures to stop it from overheating and dying. I can put a low end card on high demanding game and it won't die, at worst it will reboot. This is a RTX 3090 hardware/driver failure, under normal conditions no game should be able to kill a GPU.

Happened to my friends 3090 as well. Amazon wants to deny responsibility but it’s the only game I know that’s killing GPUs
