I've never learned to "drift" an FR car and always tend to "under-correct" which actually helps me with the MR2 lol

correct me if I'm wrong, but did you put the foot down before even reaching the apex of the turn. sounds like it and that'll be the culprit along with 16 year old stock springs.

Is this one of the 93 and earlier models without makeup or a 93-98 sw20?

What rear tires are you running??
Rear tires are most likely the culprit since you weren't going fast at all. I've had this happen to me in the wet and it was the rears. I got some rain tires that can dissapate a lot of water (deep central grooves) and that pretty much solved it. Trust me, some good tires will eliminate that. are you on stock suspension still??
