i don't mind the false son talking your abilities, what i do mind is that insta kill laser. its so hard to dodge especially if the false son is hugging the same wall your trying to hid behind.

the laser alone ruins the entire boss for me :(

just had an epiphany, the knockback fin only has use for a modded survivor called wanderer, who can only use his special against targets that are in the air. I'm going fucking looney, lads

gotta say the rating you gave was accurate at the start nothing better than getting to the point

I literally said “Chris don’t miss” one second before you did.

Artificer's movement is bugged for me T_T Her hover will just decide to stop all on its own and plummet me to the ground.

The laser from the last boss deals dmg based on fps (play on 60 fps and its like a stone titan ish)

I kinda think it’s cheating to use Chris’s music as the rating, it’s like saying dead cells is a bad game because it has (insert bad collab)

The new lunar is only good if you stack it and combo it with a TON of pale crowns. and I mean a cargo crate full of pale crowns. it removes the downside of the pale crown entirely, so don't worry about that.

I just got into this game not long ago, I was thinking of buying both dlcs but I decided to just buy Survivors of the Void and wait until reception came out on the other dlc. That decision definitely saved my ass

They add a cool feture that 1 out of every 2 runs i do with friends, everyone that is not the host will get booted from the game at a random point on a run. So when playing on the dlc my friends and i just don't do any looped runs! What a cool thing for them to do, saving me the time and all

The fact False Son making steak and stone flux ACTUALLY useful is funny to me.

Imagine they said added a sixth stage but they just want to see how creative the community is because they did not add a sixth stage lol

Tbh I do like the dlc, but I know it would be better if they had more time and weren’t rushed to push it out. Since it’s such a mess right now, I do hope they can make it accessible to revert to the old version of risk of rain 2, without going to a sketchy website. So people can still enjoy the game while they fix things

I’m having tons of fun with this dlc i think if they change the items and fix the bugs the dlc will be better than sotv

My own rating on this:

Stages: 4/5, Personally I would have swapped the new stage 1 (Shattered Abode) and 3 (Tree-born Colony) due to their sizes (TBC just seems very small for a stage 3 while SA feels extremely large for a stage 1) and having the variants locked behind looping is what holds it back. Besides that I really like the new stages, they all feel fresh and unique but still like they belong.

Items: 2/5, Even ignoring the fact that most of the items either I'm not using them correctly or don't even work properly and have other issues (Mithrix becomes invincible with the teleporter item and echo either does nothing or just does full damage to you a second time instead of splitting it on a delay like it's supposed to), there just doesn't seem to be a good balance of the items and too many of them. There are either new god-tier items (the red that makes elite and large enemies drop items) or ones that are about as useful as leaching seed or even detrimental and are better off scrapped asap, but there are a few that can be good for things such as FMP builds which is what's saving it from a 1 rating.

Survivors: 2/5, I haven't played with them very much (maybe around 6 hours of Seeker with around 30 minutes of False Son) so I'll be light with this but so far my issue is they don't have much for extra challenges and customization, they each only have 1 changeable ability and just a monsoon reward skin where every other character (arguably minus Void Fiend) has alternates for almost every ability and gets an alternate skin for this DLC's boss. I don't mind the characters being specialized (Seeker mobility and healing, False being health and damage, Chef being buff/debuff) as most of the others have some specialization (Commando: Proc, Acrid: multi target DOT, Rail: Ranged Burst Damage). It's just you get the characters and they have one thing with one option.

Enemies: 2/5, I don't really have any issue with the new enemies but I would have liked something a little more. The solar-child and the scorch-worm have the same gimmick of moving in a way they you can't find them and the Halcionite is an interesting mini-boss for the shrine. I have yet to find the "frenzy" elite but gilded enemies are absolutely everywhere, by stage 3 on monsoon about 1/4 of the enemies are just gilded enemies and I wish I was joking. I suspect there is an issue on the back end where the credit cost of the director for normal or elite enemies is the same (or at least similar) so it ends up getting them at nearly a 50/50 rate. I was on sulfur pods and heading towards the teleporter being swarmed by 8 gilded beetle guards and 10 mending flying pests, as soon as I took down one set it just immediately brought up more of the same. Next stage was sirens call with more of the same except gilded and glacial vultures. As a final note on enemies I would have liked a new type of regular stage boss.

Final Boss: 4/5, Now this is a fight! Maybe I was just kitted out but I didn't have much trouble with the laser the False-Son boss fires and liked the challenge, I also brought Aureleonite with me the first time I got to him. My only thing I really despise is the journey, the endless waves of bosses firing off the luner meteor equipment at you is a pain unless you bring something that's the equivalent of a pillar-skip like egg, wings, or vase.

Misc (Shrines, Skins, Music): 4/5, I haven't yet found the Shrine of shaping but seems interesting (especially for eclipse runs), being able to use a halcione shrine to get on the path of colossus is a neat way to get on that path just like going to the bazar and void fields (or the frog) to get to Voidling. Artifact is meh, Skins are interesting (even if I don't have them yet, though annoyed that the DLC survivors don't get anything when they are part of it....), Music is amazing as always from Chris (I thought I heard he wasn't going to be in this after Gearbox acquired the IP).

-5/-5, This is crippling even without the DLC. It's an entire recode that tries to forcibly mash the console and PC versions together and it just doesn't work, it feels like something that should be back in early access in late Alpha or barely into the Beta stages of development after the base update. At this point the best thing to do as a short term damage control is to rollback everything to how it was on August 26th and recode the DLC for the separate versions, it would probably be less of a headache given how much stuff for both PC and Console wasn't broken and now is even if you don't have the and getting the DLC breaks even more.
