I'm Portuguese and I lived by the ocean. I have eaten mostly seafood my entire life, but when I went to college I didn't have money to buy fish at the supermarket, so l lived off these cans. My favorite has always been the canned pota, but I also liked the calamari. A word of advice: the canned mussels were absolutely traumatizingly horrible. Don't, for the love of the deity that created you, eat those.

If you could find it at asian stores, there's a Filipino canned squid that's really good too. The brand is Saba. It comes in a red can with a photo of a pink squid. Best eaten warmed with sautéed onions on a bed of rice ❤

I love this one! Instead of scooping up the sauce. I used the squid is a snack and the oil is the base for a fishy pasta al limone.

Next time I buy it, I will have to try it your way

Im portuguese and word of advice buy the fresh ingridients and try to cook the recipe, youll end up with a full pot of that recipe instead of wasting 14 dollars on a very small meal

$14 in San Fran for what this maybe not so bad. You are correct about tenderness on the squid.
