In today's episode, Becket interviews Dr. Michael Heiser on his latest book, "Demons." Dr. Heiser addresses common misconceptions Christians have about the powers of darkness. Is Satan a demon? Where do demons come from? Hint: It's not what you think. What are the three rebellions that got us to this chaotic place? What did Jesus mean when he said, "Upon this rock I will build my church." Why did Jesus cast out demons? These and many more questions like it will be answered.

ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.

Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.

Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.

He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.

Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.

Becket’s book, A Change of Affection: A Gay Man’s Incredible Story of Redemption, with a
foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.

Brothers and sisters, my secular cousin sent me a message telling me she's on a journey trying to figure out if Jesus is real, so please pray for her salvation! And also for Dr. Heiser's full recovery!

It just breaks my heart that Mike is no longer with us. Our brother was a gift to the church. He almost single-handedly helped us read the Bible with the understanding of those who produced it.

I cried when I found out today that Dr Michael has left us. I've only just found his teaching, he asks AND ANSWERS all the questions I have about the bible and the ancient world. Finally someone who I can follow as I am "content hungry" as he puts it. Hungry for knowledge and truth, referenced, fact based truth. Sigh. Well he is now finishing his discovery in the unseen realm, and I hope he knew that his work is going to start a revolution in the young. It sure has with me

One of Mike’s best interviews. Sadly, he passed away from pancreatic cancer this past February. Please remember his wife Drenna & family in your prayers.

I appreciate Dr Heiser and I appreciate Becket Cook. There’s so much to be discussed and appreciated about these guys and the messages they bring to us. Today, I was thinking about Becket Cook and I’m just amazed by his courage. He proclaims Jesus to a culture that is filled with hate. He’s taken a courageous stand against the enemy. We should pray for him.

the way he talks is so clam and humble, doesn't seem like a guy who wrote a book, but just a humble follower of God.

Every single video or podcast that I listen of Dr Mike his genuine joy and love for The Word of Yahweh is palpable- I only discovered his teachings after his death - and am biblically a much wiser woman for it. He has a gift for making scripture not only understandable-it’s relatable and most importantly it feels truthful- something that is desperately needed in the Sunday pulpits imho - my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Not an exaggeration to say one will never read the Bible the same way again...thank you so much for having Dr. Heiser on. I've been listening to him for a little while and am amazed at what I'm learning. Praying for God to give him divine health and many more years to share his teaching. Thank you, Becket!

Man... I miss this guy. I'm glad he's with our Lord now. I love how Dr. Heiser mentioned his wife listens to the Beckett Cook show "so she'll have to listen to me this time because I'm on your show, " haha. Such a great sense of humor and mixed with his knowledge of scripture and the unseen realm and cool, approachable, down to earth personality.. our loss is heaven's gain. RIP Michael Heiser. You are greatly missed.

I just watched this today….may 19, 2023 and then heard tim Keller had passed from pancreatic cancer today. I had no idea Dr heiser passed as well until just reading the comments. I’m so sad, but also how wonderful for them both that they are with Jesus right now ❤❤❤

Excellent. May God heal Michael Heiser. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given 3 months. We put her on a raw food diet with alkaline water and her cancer hadn’t even grown after 3 1/2 years.

We lost something/someone very special when we lost Dr. Heiser. Praise God for the hope we have in Jesus! And praise God for the content Dr. Heiser left for us. I highly recommend the back catalog of the Naked Bible podcast, as well as all of his writings. God bless & comfort his family.
