Dr. Fung is my hero! Post menopausal women CAN lose weight! I'm 60 and lost 160 lbs (!) by following Dr. Fung's videos, lectures and books. I ate/eat LCHF keto and learned how to fast. The transformation has been profound. It reversed ALL my health issues and I'm medication free. I look and feel better than I ever have and have tons of energy. I'm active, swim and am even a lifeguard at our local pools! I did it all on my own, just by watching and learning. I'm maintaining great and loving my fasting lifestyle. I'm so thankful 🥰🙏. Be well! 😊

I just did a 40 hour fast. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I felt great. Now I am trying to eat enough in my eating window and I am STUFFED! I'm doing alternate day fasting. ❤

A tip to move into fasting is to completely avoid processed food including sugar and carbs for at least a week prior to implementing fasting.

Dr. Fung is so calm, explaining fasting in a methodical, scientific way. I always enjoy listening to him.

Back I come!!!! Did so well on low carbs and IF (even if I had to be fairly drastic about it). Lost pretty much 3 stone in 4 months. Then I let slip and spent the next 6 months breaking all the good habits and undoing all my progress. Self sabotage. SO annoying. Anyway. Starting again. Wish me luck…

Am I the only one who likes a video once Dr. Fung is featured even before I listen to the video???😂 Dr. Fung is a medical genius and I'm so fortunate, like many of us, to have come across him. He has changed my perspective completely. ❤

This is such an important and illuminating video. No hype or frantic gesticulation… just facts. I laughed out loud at Dr. Fung’s analogy of storing firewood for the winter and then chopping up and burning your sofa. It’s still deeply troubling to me how misinformed the medical community is regarding metabolic illness. Thanks for a great video.

Great video! One of the hurdles to IF seems to be ‘unlearning’ what we have been told for many years. I have friends who still quote “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. My reply is that I eat my breakfast at around lunchtime 😂

I fasted for 5 days straight once. I lost my appetite about day 3. The reason I broke the fast was my lack of hunger frightened me. ( I was doing this alone.) I am so glad to understand the hormonal responses around eating. I am so looking forward to implementing this in my life. 😊

Andrea, what makes this podcast excellent was your topic, your guest, and the way you allowed your guest to speak (so many dont).

I’m over 40 and I followed the advice of a doctor who does not recommend fasting for periods of time during the month/cycle. It didn’t work for me. For me intermittent fasting works when I do it all the time. The moment I prolong my eating window, I don’t feel good, I don’t have as much energy and I put on weight easily. However, what worked for me is eating way more healthy fats and no processed carbs. I think it is so important to listen to the advice but try and test to see what works for us individually.

In our Indian culture we always go for IF every 15 days. Was practiced for more than thousands of years

It can be difficult to maintain your fast when you have to prepare food for other people. Easier when you can stay away from the smell of food

I noticed how the interviewer kept asking Dr. Fung about fasting & impacts on menopausal women, but wasn't getting really concrete answers. Who you really need to interview is Dr. Mindy Peltz, author of "Fasting Like A Girl". Not only is she brilliant and has charisma/charm for days, but she's also a 50+ year old woman.

Walking for 10-20 after eating can also blunt the insulin spike, according to the woman who wrote Metabolic Revolution. She also lists the Apple cider vinegar drink before meals and having a veggie appetizer before dinner.

Even Jillian Michaels says when she goes into menopause, she will simply eat less and move more. So annoying.., this is why social media is ruining our lives.

I lost 40 pounds since Jan this year. I had a hysterectomy Nov '16. I tried diets, etc. Only IF worked. Thank you, Dr Fung. I have a long way to go but confident that I will make my goal.
