Yesterday me and a few other Black Expats in Panama learned how to use the metro system in Panama City. Shout out to Sista Barb Barbara Davis Rouse for sharing her “Metro Swag” with us! The system here is very sophisticated, which I’m sure is surprising for many. However, I would prefer not to use the bus, just because I do not like that mode of Transportation. Also, like any rail system, you definitely want to avoid peak times when you can. I didn’t expect the system to be so crowded during lunchtime, but it seems that a shift of Panama City students were finishing up school for the day or headed to class. I think they havea lot of students who go on two shifts. However, I do see, the metro in my near future. I traveled from one end to the other for what I believe was less than $1.50 (corrected from $1.00). Absolutely amazing!!

it was a very productive, fun day and we got a lot of steps in!

Albrook is where you can get buses to the interior and the beaches. Also, buses to Costa Rica. The metro is the best, the only train metro in Central America.

Pay the fare with your contactless credit/debit card. No need to waste your time buying a metro card, especially if you won't be using the bus. The whole trip to the airpor from the city centert is only 85 cents. From the area where you live it would just be 50 cents.

Thanks for the video. I love the metro. My husband the gringo showed me how to use it. Charlotte I was recently in Panama. Before coming to Panama I tried to contact your tour guide with no results. The phone kept ringing with no answer. By the end of my trip we figured out that phones don’t always ring in Panama. Have you had this experience and if you have what’s the go around? Thanks again for the video.
