DJI Mavic 2 Pro Flight Time Comparison

Показать описание
Does the DJI Mavic 2 Pro really fly for 31 minutes? In this video I do a flight time test comparison with the Mavic Pro Platinum and Mavic Air. See who comes out on top.

Note: DJIs tests are in controlled environments and the 31 minutes Flight Time are also with the drone moving forward at 25 kph. My flight tests are based off of real world time tests I normally take. 30% is when I have bring my drone back near my home point location and 20% is when I land. All tests will vary so please take this video as an idea of rough Flight times achieved by these drones.

This channel is quickly becoming the go-to source for comprehensive professional and concise dji drone tests on YouTube.. without the fluff.

The maximum flying autonomy of the Mavic is reached while slowly proceeding forward, because for aerodynamic reason the battery consumption is higher when hovering than when proceeding forward

For context, those saying I should run it to zero, should know this is something you never do. This is not a cell phone battery test you let sit until they die. This is sample test to give you a rough idea. I never fly into the low ranges of a battery. 30% is when my drone is nearby and 20% is when I land. These are best practices and this is why I test and land at these levels.

Great test! Goes again to confirm to me that Mavic Pro 1 truly is a great drone. It is a great competitor to MP2.

I am guessing DJI's claimed battery time of 31 minutes is flying the drone in a controlled environment (probably indoors with no wind affecting flight) and flying the drone until battery literally gets to 0 and drone falls of the air. Yes, that will give you 31 minutes.

Hey I just wanted to give you a shout out. I don't typically comment but in your case you deserve it. Out of all the channels that talk drones, from racing to aerial photography, and you are one of the most well spoken and to the point. Your videos say all that needs to be said and no BS. Keep up the good work man we need guys like you posting more! On a side note my office manager thinks you sound like Joe Rogan.

Thank you for the video, would you consider the following test: a) drain batts to 5% b) use waypoints to continuously map a circuit with same speed and path for both Mavic Pro and Mavic Pro 2 (have to do several laps I expect) c) can drop the Mavic Air perhaps. That would be a more interesting test which would also be a better use case for testing the claimed flight durations cited by DJI. We know hovering uses up more juice. Thanks for the clip though, was interesting nontheless

Please do a camera comparison between Mavic Air vs Mavic 2 zoom. There isn’t a single video about that

I appreciate the time and effort in all videos. No one compares to the channel.👊🏼

I love my platinum. It gets the job done for what I use it for. Don’t see a need to upgrade unless you just wanna spend money to have the latest and greatest.

Good test showing that DJI have created an optimum flight envelope for each drone. People don’t seem to realise that they are all different drones. For example the MP/MPP battery is a three cell battery pack whereas the M2P/M2Zoom is a four cell pack. So the later has a higher power density to carry the overall greater weight and extra sensor loads. Probably to get a closer performance comparison you would have to shut off the extra sensors on the M2P to match the MPP for example. Another point of difference is that the data rates from each camera are different and higher in the M2P and MAir compared to the MPP. In the end there’s more to performance than flight time - many factors added together make the difference.

Hovering also uses more battery than moving in a slow 2-3 mph lateral movement. A lot more.

Great you're the 1st one with this kind of test that I seen...looking forward to watching more videos

I did a similar test with my mavic pro 2 and my friend mavic platinum. I came up with the exact same results. Even when we tried are best to fly forward at the same speed and height in the same area they broke about even in comparison. I would say the biggest advantage of the mavic 2 is the signal strength and better quality camera.

Great video mate. I'm more impressed at how well they can hover and not drift into each other. Amazing technology.... I love DJI...
