I was absent ONCE. And my history teacher was like, “Oh it’s so sad Charlie isn’t here today, it’s her favorite subject, I feel so bad for her, ” and then WAITED to watch the movie, till I was there the next day.

And 4 other students were absent the day after, she did not give shi-

My spanish teacher would take role, and she’d notice her favorite student was gone, and ask us where he was and all of us didn’t know, and this went on for about a month and so she made us write to him that we missed him and hoped he felt better. And he comes back to school a month later and we find out he was just on a trip, yet my teacher didn’t care about anyone else being gone for a long time.

I remember usually when a student is absent the teacher doesn't care but this one kid in my class.. every teacher asked about where he was and we just said that he was sick and sometimes the same teacher asked about him 3 times

There’s this kid in one of my classes that I sit next to and he has been taking a long time off recently. Every day he doesn’t show I get quite upset and lose all motivation for the day, because the class is so dull and boring without him. Other kids have noticed how bad class has been since he stopped coming and talk about it but they never talk about him. I’ve spoken to this kid maybe once or twice in class so I don’t know him personally and I don’t know why he’s been absent, but I hate school when he’s not in.


For the record, I like this kid mostly for his jokes and how he can make even the cold unfeeling teachers and kids laugh. I don’t know anything about him except his first name.

And yet being the quiet and slow one was also considered the “favorite” student as you get picked on when you didn’t raise your hand but was not picked on when you actually did, all the fun lessons were taught while being pulled out for speech therapy/ extra tutoring or counseling. Or my favorite, the butterfly experiment tent incident where the teacher had had the tent in the middle of the class surrounded by all our desks and my foot got caught on the edge fell. Who did you think the teacher (and most of the classmates that were there) was the most more concerned with? If the answer was me…. Nope! Wrong!

Teachers should not favor some students over others. But I think I was my 9th grade English teacher's favorite student. The boys would tease me and she would always stop the lesson to tell them to stop. I also loved reading and iirc, it seemed like she thought I was the only one interested in her classes.
