Steve Wozniak (b. 1950) co-founder, Apple Computer, recalls when a computer cost as much as a house. He then set out to build a computer he could afford, and in doing so, paved the way millions of others to afford one, too. This outtake is from The Boomer List, premiering Sept. 23, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS, which tells the story of 19 iconic baby boomers.

When people ask me why I think Wozniak was the better “Steve from Apple” I will point them to this video. Without Wozniak, we wouldn’t have iPhones today. Without Jobs too, of course, but Woz gonna Woz, whether it’s inventing a computer or submitting Tetris scores to Nintendo Power magazine, Woz gonna Woz.
