Thumbs up. Clearly stating that there is no real reason to upgrade is appreciated 👍

You can get the Fenix 7 sapphire solar for 690 euro here, while the Pro sapphire is 200-250 more. That's one expensive flashlight, on an already very expensive watch. So the choice wasn't really that hard for me.

Elevate 5 sensors will roll out additional functionality once they have been certified. Things like skin temp, ECG etc it would seem from a hardware perspective. Also the pro screen defo is a touch clearer and brighter, its not massive but noticable indoors when you compare like for like. There is a reason that the pro version was released, if there wasn't a key difference Garmin would not have launched an updated Fenix (aka 7X to 7X pro) esp at same time as new Epix. Most Fenix users are savvy enough to be buying the watch for its pratical applications and not subject to having the latest Apple watch etc fashion statement. However nothing can be confirmed otherwise it would be misselling a product if the various regions (FDA etc) don't approve the new functionality. Like most of us we all wear heart rate straps (i still think the wahoo tickr x is better than the garmin version in the cheaper range of HR straps) so if you have a 7x already, not worth updating to the pro as it stands today, however with software updates to come this may make the upgrade more appealing. It is incomprehensible that Garmin would launch this 7x Pro without a substancial difference, so its down to how much you use it, the state of your current 7x (despite mine being the SS it was literally battered after heavy mountaineering useage in addition to running and ready for an upgrade) and how much you value any future upgrades to be released by firmware that will only be valid on the pro and new sensor.

Thanks very much for the video, it's really useful to help demystify the difference between all of the model names. In Michael's review he said that in the standard version you don't get topo maps, is this correct? The thing I want and care about most is the good mapping so I want to make absolutely sure that it would have the good maps! I checked on Garmin's website under the maps tab for each difference model of watch and I can't see a difference in what's provided. What I don't know is, firstly if this is correct from your experience, and also if there is a hidden charge for some of the mapping features on some models. Thanks in advance.

Differente between 7x solar titanium an the new 7pro ?? Only smaller increase for solar. And the ECG. Because 7x already has the flashlight, the multiband etc

Why are so many videos comparing the 7pro SOLAR to the 7 SAPPHIRE SOLAR. I would love to see sapphire of each. I would think the Sapphire screen makes it less clear. However, the backlight is indeed brighter.

Benefits vs drawbacks of upgrading from Fenix 6x Sapphire to 7x Sapphire Solar?

Yeah i am not going to upgrade. I use a chest strap always, so i am just bummed that i don't have a light but that's not enough to upgrade. I always use a head torch at night anyway, so it would only be trip to the toilet kind of use.

I have an old fenix 5. The buttons are still all working but with a bit pressure I have to recharge battery often. In GPS Traking it don't run more than 13 or 14 hours.
So I deceded to take fenix 7 pro.
It's expensive, but with pro I have more:
- Solar
- Torch
- Multifrequency GPS
- New Elevate Sensor
- 32 gb
- Probably
Alternativelly I could take garmix fenix 7 at little more that half price with a and change it after 3 at the same price.
But there are some function very usefull to have (32 gb, torch, New cardio sensor, and multifreqency gps....)

My decision is Epix vs Fenix. Fenix Pro vs Fenix is an easy choice as I want the flashlight in the middle-sized model.

100% battery on Fenix 7 Pro shows 18 days.
100% battery on Fenix 7 show 22 days.
Is there any settings difference? Why is that?
