There's something weird about this China-Taiwan tension; Taiwan used to be fine with the arrangement i.e maintaining the status quo until the west interfered and pushed Taiwan to be pro-independent.
Almost every country in the world recognised the one China two system policy until the US changed the
Historically, Taiwan has always been a part of China until recent times.
Taiwan is free to declare its independence but letting the US get involved would make the situation get really messy.
Taiwan is a pawn in this US-China cold war thing going on

Even if the 45 trillion wasn't taken. We still wouldn't be half as rich as china is today. But since it was actually taken, we are now 20 times poorer than China
