The Magic Flute

Enjoy this 2021 production of Mozart's The Magic Flute, performed by the RCM Opera Studio.

Set between the worlds of a secondary school and a subconscious dreamscape, this production looks at a group of teenagers who are navigating friendship, loneliness, competition, desire and love. 

This special production is directed by Polly Graham, Artistic Director of Longborough Festival Opera and two-time winner of Best Opera productions at the Welsh Theatre Awards.

BRILLIANT! Absolutely spectacular! I though I'd never see anything like the 2006 Covent Garden production, but here we are. Fun, fresh and heartwarming. 10/10!
The setting and costume design is superb. Take, for example the differences in their uniforms, and how the "drei knaben" wear the same clothes and backpacks. BTW best "drei knaben" ever ♥ I love them. The scene in the library was top.
Hyoyoung Kim does a spectacular job as Pamina. Beautiful performance overall. Straight to my fav list.
