Fixing up a junk Game Boy Micro - Part 2

I picked up this Game Boy Micro, or rather, most of a Game Boy Micro for relatively cheap. I replaced the fuses and got the motherboard working and I ordered all the parts I need to finish assembling it. I did have to scrap the battery cover I ordered though, it's entirely too crappy to use. I could not make it work if I wanted to, that's how bad it is.

I believe I've got a lead or two on an OEM battery cover, but in case that falls through, I'd appreciate any other leads if you folks have them. Color is largely irrelevant because I plan on either cerakoting or powder coating this Micro.

I'm thinking of getting green buttons cast (dpad and a and b), switching back to the chrome L and R buttons, and cerakoting the body of the Micro purple. Any other suggestions?

Part 3 will come a week or three after I get a battery cover and my new buttons. No ETA.

Play the video on .25 speed at 40:12 and spacebar pause a bunch. You'll see a spark where you shorted the battery pressing it in with the screwdriver.

So Cerakote certainly appears to be Sherwin Williams Paint rebranded and put in cans. I cannot say this is 100% certainty as I have not worked in their factory however I have it on good authority. (Says a random guy on the internet)
Alternately Brownells sells an aluminum bake on paint that comes in a few colors, mostly firearm related colors, that you spray then bake for a few hours, if the housing you have is indeed aluminum it would come out with a nice hard coating that would look nice. Brownells ships to all states (judging by your accent/lack thereof you are midwest by birth, or Canadian) not sure where you are at though.
Alternately if it is aluminum you could powdercoat it using a small model powder coating kit and a sacrificial toaster oven.(Christmas Critters Hail Satan)
I have also seen in Shotgun News/Firearms news kits for electroplating in either silver or gold, which would be cat's ass as far as being unique.
Given that the aluminum POS that somebody sold you is oversize, you also might be able to use it as a form for either a carbon fiber battery cover (filling the inside with a soft weave and then spreading a hardening agent on it) or as a plastic mold negative although either would I am sure present challenges.
Anyway, enjoyed the vid. Keep up the good work!

Where did you get that green and purple faceplate from?

Have you thought about re-anodizing it and dying it a different color? I've been considering this myself with a beat up micro that I have.
