This one seems to cycle a normal HPS color. Seems to light like a brand new lamp, but it cycles.

Many I’ve seen start bluish, shift to incandescent, and then shift to sodium orange. New ones tend to start xenon, shift to a deep orange, and then shift to yellow. Older lamps sometimes will be an incandescent color or a mercury vapor color. I’m guessing what causes them to glow like an incandescent is due to minimal sodium in the arctube, which means it’s NOT fully vaporized, causing the mercury to kick into the spectrum, making it glow the same color as an incandescent bulb. I once saw an HPS nema head, that looked exactly like an incandescent in color, but it had an HPS bulb in it.
