A medieval shipwreck known as the “Mortar Wreck” was discovered off England’s southern coast. Scientists were able to test the timbers of the ship and determine that it dates back to the 13th century. The 750-year-old site is the oldest known wreck in which the ship’s hull is still visible. According to maritime archaeologist Tim Cousins, some of the artifacts found in the wreck, “are in immaculate condition, like they were carved yesterday.”

I’ve always been scared of the ocean. Somehow this seems like a less frightening ship wreck. Wish i was going back in time sometimes

That looks so cool especially the good condition that they've managed to be in after 750 years

I love stuff like this. Recently I've been watching the show Drain the Oceans on Disney+. The show explores different shipwrecks and goes into the history of them. It's really interesting to see what can be found in the different bodies of water and learning the history behind it.

Imagine the amount of things we would find if the ocean was drained for a week.

Brilliant! They say it was found in Poole Bay and show a shot of Swanage Bay which is just around the coast from Poole Bay/Harbour. Then the next shot is of Sandbanks, one of the most wealthiest piece's of land in the UK! That is part of Poole Bay though!. There's been plenty of activity around Poole Harbour over the centuries. I was on an archaeological dig on the west side of the bay and that was Iron Age.

I’m amazed by how close to land it is, and judging by how bright it is down there, it doesn’t seem like it was very deep. Incredible 😮

Don't you just wish we had a time machine to see It sailing? Man the ocean holds more untold stories than anyone will ever imagine! Probably more than space!
