Have you ever wondered what it’s like to testify for Right to Repair? Do you want to get involved but think it’s too hard or scary? We sent our Outreach Coordinator, Olivia Webb, all the way to Washington to testify in her first Right to Repair hearing. This is what she learned.

You did a fantastic job. You spoke very elegantly, seem more knowledgeable that the fools against it & showed your passion in a way that came across in your words. Thank you so much for taking a stand for all of us who feel the same way. Also thanks to iFixit for always being kick ass and doing great work.

The right to repair should be a world wide petition open to all.

Saw your testimony through Louis Rossmann, and i thought you did great.
I hope this inspires people to help the right to repair movement by calling their representatives and coming to these hearings.

I have also used Ifixit tools to fix 3d printers, and absolutely love them, top quality.

Louis isn’t just a youtuber, he’s the pioneer of MacBook logic board repair! But then again, he’s over 1 million subs, so yeah he’s a youtuber

EDIT: if this comment made Olivia or anyone else feel bad, I’m so sorry, it has never been my intention. She was awesome with her speach and clearly spoke her own mind. No one should be discouraged of speaking what they think! You go girl! Great job

Great testimony! Hope something similar like this pops up here in Europe so I can actively participate in the fight for our right to repair our own things!

Olivia, I hope you ignore the trolls commenting on this video. It is unfortunate that there are so many people with no class. It took a lot of courage for you to do what you did in testifying. At least you did something worthwhile with your time. Thank you for being willing to speak your mind. You are clearly and bright and intelligent young woman. I wish you the best success in your life!

I find it nuts that this even has to go to court. There was a time where it was normal to fix your own stuff and not just trash it. Consumerism sucks. Very very wasteful

Just ignore any negative chat comments, you did very well. We need more people like you who go to the hearings and speak even through it's a bit scary.
Don't worry about being nervous, your message actually carried more weight because of it. Unlike most other people there you clearly pushed past any discomfort to show up and testify because you're genuinely concerned about repair at the moment. Because of this everyone there will have taken your testimony as more genuine than anything the company representatives said.
