Robert Anton Wilson - Jack Parsons and Aleister Crowley

Few people are aware of Marvel Whiteside Parsons (a.k.a Jack Parsons), co-founder of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratories. Parsons made major contributions to rocket development, particularly in the area of solid fuel propellant. The solid motors on the Space Shuttle and the motors in the Minuteman missile were based on the solid propellant technology that he invented. He was a founding member of Aerojet Corporation, and he even has a crater on the dark side of the moon named after him. So why isn’t he as celebrated as the other founding fathers of spaceflight?

Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley, was a British occultist, writer, mountaineer, philosopher, poet, mystic, drug experimenter, and chess player. He was an influential member in several occult organizations, including the Golden Dawn, the A∴A∴, and Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), and is best known today for his occult writings, especially The Book of the Law, the central sacred text of Thelema. He gained much notoriety during his lifetime, and was infamously dubbed "The Wickedest Man in the World."

I was fortunate enough to see RAW speak at a rave in Chicago in 1993. It was one of the most interesting and captivating lectures I have witnessed- his delivery was somewhere between hyper-articulate intellectual colossus and a demented drunk who could not speak in linear thoughts. This is unbelievably important for people to hear. In the 90s before the internet was popular I couldn't find any reasonable writings by Crowley. And completely forget Parsons. I firmly believe there is a lot of misinformation surround this topic.

RAW is one of my favorite modern philosopher and author, I'd dare to say he was a true genius.
I agree with him fully about Parson and Crowley. Parson was erased from history books, almost, because of the societal stigma towards mind altering substances and occultism, 90% of people in fact call him a Satanist and won't nothing to do with him, which is unfortunate becsuse both his books are absolutely brilliant, if only Christianity didn't brainwash most of the western world, and in later years the science cult is doing the very same, we would live in a much better place where people understood there's more to life than material possessions.
As for Crowley, he's the perfect example for "do as I say not as I do", as his work his also incredibly deep, although quite difficult to understand without a good base of esoteric philosophy, but like for Parson he's been labeled a Satanist and most people are scared shitless of him and what he represents, not wanting to touch his work with a ten foot pole. He's had a hand in it though, he created his own reputation we can say, as he loved provoking the public with preposterous claims and behavior, but I've already covered this.
As Robert said, psychedelics are also a wonderful tool to cure exotic mental health issues or to access diffrent states of consciousness and dimensions, the experiences you live through these plant medicines (although today we can synthetize most of them and we even created new ones) deeply change your life and your perception of reality, for the better that is, they make you concious of the fact that we live in a manufactured lie, we're bombarded by state propaganda, treated like kids or slaves, and those that dare talk about the truth are either ostricized, ignored or murdered, both figuratively and literally, only in rare cases truth seekers are treated with respect by society, it's usually the milder ones that adopted some form of eastern philosophy and adapted it for the zombiefied western mind, so those that play it safe basically, being frank.

Crowley was broke, and Parsons came in contact with someone who knew where he was . These were Letter writing times. Parsons created his family's mansion in Pasadena into the only real Church Of Thelema.
