Tunnel Bear does the job for me, i was trying to play an online game that my country does not supports, playing an online game does not use too much data so the performance is almost as good as a paid vpn for me

Proton and TunnelBear both don't work right for every computer. They never connect for certain versions of windows.

The free Proton VPN I tried was extremely slow. Maybe I need to try it again. They said if I bought a subscription, it would be faster.

I think that people should pay for their VPN

Many free VPNs have different privacy policies for the free version (hotspotshield sells data to advertisers on free version if i remember correctly)
95% of the population don't need a VPN anyway
