Growing up we only had fans. During summer it was mostly between 100-115 degrees even at night. We’d all have buckets with water and a few washers or tea towels. We’d dip the cloth, ring it, wave it around a bit to cool it then lay it in ourselves just to try and get sleep. Sometimes we also had a spray bottle each for misting🍺🍺

Good afternoon Anne. We have those rolling black outs and they’re horrible because it’s always during the hottest part of the day. We want a generator. Yes my friend doesn’t have ac and she’s always doing her chores early in the morning to get done. Growing up we would put our box fan in the windows to bring in more air. Great tips Anne

The humidity down here is a killer, and that is the only reason why evaporator coolers are pretty much ineffective along the coast. However, they do work very well in low-humidity areas. Great content, Anne!

Fun fact for the older ladies: standing in front of an open door of the freezer section helps with hot flashes. You are welcome.

Merci pour les informations utiles. I remember spending hot summer days in Florida as a kid and going into air conditioned convenient stores. We would lie on the floor until they made us leave. Also, many of the homes I remember as a youth here in Mississippi had these real high ceilings. I suppose that allowed the heat to rise some. Have a great weekend.

Great tips Anne. I pray the grid doesn't go down. I saw the other day a commercial on you tube where they attached two frozen bottles of water to a fan. I bet that would work. Of course that is if the power is working.

It is just blazing hot here🥵 I have started staying up at night, and sleeping from 10 to 4pm. My son is home for the summer and my husband keeps a normal schedule still. Also, I put bottles of water in the freezer and wrap them, which makes them freeze soft. If we lose power here, it would be deadly. People here are climatized to air conditioners!
