You can post something online and still own the rights to it.
Making something available to the public does not mean you give the ownership to the public.
It's the same reason you can't just take an album someone else made and sell copies of it, as if you owned the rights to it.
But that's exactly how AI companies are operating, and they think "opt-out" is a solution.
It has to be opt-in, as with everything else.

A few years ago "artisan" and "handmade" started popping up on different product labels to indicate it wasn't mass produced and sold at a premium, soon we will start to see "human made" labels in several products to indicate no AI was involved in the creation or manufacturing of the product.
