ASEAN-US special summit: ASEAN leaders set to meet Biden at White House

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is in Washington, DC, where he has met Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, ahead of the ASEAN-US special summit. US President Joe Biden will be holding his first face-to-face talks with the bloc at the two-day summit.

8 of the 10 ASEAN countries have come, and 150 million has been given for a long distance. This summit is more like humiliating ASEAN rather than winning ASEAN. As a result,
we ASEAN countries insist on neutrality and do not choose sides.

Any US inclusion in the decision making process among ASEAN countries will greatly dilute the sovereignty over matters indigenous to the region. Be it economy or politic, ASEAN just walked into the US trap of unipolarization. The US is succeeding in getting ASEAN to isolate China through this package leading to a much insecure region.

Meetings like the ASEAN, the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77 and the G7 Summit going on for decades but still have no resolutions for the Israeli & Palestinian conflict and people are still dying by numbersome. Or the migration of large groups of people from one geographical area to another or the high inflations.

The sad part not a single Network questions what I have raised here.

In short, there are no Global resolutions to all of the above akin to NATO= No Action Talk Only. Makes you wonder how’re the justifications for these meetings or even their existence.

The only people who benefit from these “High Profile “meetings are the Heads of State. and News Networks. They fly government jets with an entourage of families, friends, and Ministers with two agendas " entertainment and shopping spree " all on taxpayers' accounts. (some networks fly commercial).

Back home they'll be claiming huge entertainment bills and travel allowances. With the US dollar all-time high, they’ll be laughing all the way to the banks. While the man on the streets suffers.
