ASEAN leaders' summit: Myanmar crisis, Ukraine war, geopolitical tensions top agenda

Leaders are gathering in Phnom Penh for the ASEAN leaders' summit, which opens on Nov 11. It is the first to be held in person since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. US President Joe Biden and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will also be attending the regional talks. The theme of the summit is "Addressing Challenges Together". Post-COVID-19 recovery, the crisis in Myanmar, the war in Ukraine as well as geopolitical tensions between the Washington and Beijing are high on the agenda.

ASEAN wastes money in dealing with Myanmar crisis because one expert and Cambodian said ASEAN is not court to make Myanmar military to obey it's 5 consensus. Let China and American solve Myanmar crisis but in vain. USA is buying Myanmar oil and gas. China wants to build Belt and road in Myanmar as well as trading. So Biden needs Myanmar oil and gas only but not Peace in Myanmar to let China for trading. China has no policy to interfere Myanmar crisis. Myanmar crisis makes more American interest for gaining all aspects. Powerless China and powerless ASEAN are nothing for Myanmar military. Full stop. Biden is quitely dancing with Myanmar military. Don't waste money. Lip service from USA is nothing as usual.

ASEAN must be united and be strong together in terms of both military and economic so we can strive and grow together. We should have a defence treaty between all democractic ASEAN countries to protect/defend each other in case of any attack.

Solidarity Center (SC)
Public Summary: To strengthen their structural and operational capacity to defend worker rights, the Center will provide training, mentoring, and research support to workplace-level unions and union upper structures in Burma. The Center will identify and cultivate key leaders, staff, and activists within union federation structures, labor NGOs, and workplace-level unions to become effective trainers, mentors, and organizers. The Center will also develop model structures and language for union constitutions, which are critical to building a democratic union movement capable of improving working conditions in the future.
