I love my Mom, but that would annoy me for her to undermine my parenting. I would get that she been a parent longer than I have, but let me learn from my mistakes. Just be a grandmother and let me be the parent please, and if I need advice I’ll come to you.

Old school is dumb because using physical violence to instill fear in your kids will only enable them to go out in the world & think that it is okay to use physical violence to get their way. It also creates resentment and bitterness in the child-parent relationship, beating them for punishment is treating them like a slave. Treat your kids like an intellectual being, so they understand fully WHY they were punished

Ok so she was raised right then the grandmother should back off. At times this drives me mad. I live states away from my mom and she still adds her 2 cents. It literally drives me off the wall! She raised me well and that in itself should be enough! I know it comes from a place of love but it also comes off as controlling. I know I'll always be her daughter however our relationship has to also evolve from when I was younger and living under her authority. I'm married now with 2 children and one on the way. People are different and have different perspectives so obviously things will be done differently! Children are different too. Yes there's ways that spoil children however we have to respect other parents. If they ask for your opinion fine. But if they PLEASE DON'T SAY ANYTHING! If the children are safe and taken care of *MIND YOUR BUISNESS.*
