this is all wrong, first it is 6 cylinder and 2nd the 3.5 V6 is only available with 9 speed automatic ....the 2.4 I4 is available with 8 speed DCT, ,,sooo there is no 8 speed automatic at any trim

To repeat:
The 3.5 L V6 is mated to a 9-speed automatic; the base 2.4 L I4 is mated to a 8-speed dual clutch.

Ahem...I see everyone and their Mother has decided to call out that typo on the splash screen..haha...we are all human and we all make mistakes. No worries. Thanks for the great video. I have been in love with Honda/Acura V-6's since I was in High School. Just the most wonderful machines to rev to redline with that beautiful sonorous intake noise and i-VTEC working its valvular magic. This is why Honda is a Motor Company...and the rest are...well, not.(Bimmer excluded, also a Motor company)

Honda needs to Turbo this byotch.  I would love to see a 3.5 turbo Acura beat the shixt out of my 435i MPPK.  It would be nice to have the reliability of a Honda with the performance of a BMW... I'm not loyal to BMW so it would be awesome to have a car that offers similar performance for less money.

Rare typo for you guys, but that's what it is ...
1) it's 3.5 v6 not the 4 cyl.
2) it's 9 speed automatic not 8 ( and 8 is a DCT avaible only in 2.4 cyl.)

remember this is a sohc v6 whilst others in the same category are DOHC and using continuous variable valve timing.

Incorrect title. It’s a 2.4 liter 8 speed 4 cylinder with 209 horsepower or a 3.5 liter 9 speed 6 cylinder with 290 horsepower.

I am surprised it wasn't a little quicker.  Must be the weight.  I had a 2005 TL 6 spd it used to get 5.8-9. Needed the traction control on or it would spin the tires until about 30.  Went through a clutch in 12, 000 miles.  Acura paid for it saying it must have been a defect, but I knew the reason and think they did too.  They also told me though that would be the only one they would replace for free.

Honda/Acura should definitely come out with a supercharged or turbocharged version of the 3.5L VTEC V-6 for a special high-performance version of the TLX. They already have the AWD system that could get all that power to the ground so all they would really need to do is strengthen the ZF 9AT to handle the extra hp/torque and modify the software for sportier performance to match the FI V-6. Add a sportier suspension and a bit more aggressive interior/exterior styling accents and they would have serious competitor to the Audi S4, BMW M3, upcoming Cadillac ATS-V, and Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. It's already a great motor so all they would need to do is add the turbo/supercharger, intercooler, lower compression pistons, modify the ECU programming and fuel system for the FI, and beef up any components necessary to ensure maximum durability, longevity and reliability and Honda/Acura would most certainly have a winner on their hands.
