Hey, I'm puzzled so I'm going to ask a dumb question.  :)

In the first part of the vid you have a+(n-1)d  on the right side of the equation.  But starting at 15:51 you use just a+dn as the value on the right side.  I wasn't clear as to why you made that switch.

Can you shed any light on this for an old history teacher who had to stand in as a sub for a pre-calc class today?  :)
