I finally took the time to watch it entirely, and, it was all worth it. I wasn't expecting that outcome. I thought this was a superscaling tutorial, and it is actually a footage-recovery masterclass.
You're a genious!

Indeed, one of the best instructions I saw on YT for a while. The key message you left with me: "You can make an HD clip look better with solid color grading and selective sharpening than a poorly postprocessed 4K clip." Fabolous how you get so much atmosphere from this little scene.

In this one video, I legitimately have learned THE MOST regarding color grading in comparison to the thousand other "tutorials" I've watched on YouTube. Thank you, a thousand fold. Subscribed. I wish I came across this last night lol

This is a very apples to oranges comparison. When you copied all of the nodes over to the supersampled version it was being sharpened twice via super sampling and your nodes. That's a big reason why it looked bad. While i agree that your process would yield better results, if you disabled the sharpening nodes in the supersampled clip and then compared, the difference would be less stark. This video should really be called, "grading log footage like a pro" cause your grade is exceptional!

Just when I think I am getting pretty-good with Davinci and video editing you go and make a video like this one! Awesome content but it does show me how much I still have to learn! Really enjoy the channel from one creator to another! Glad to see you're making content more frequently again! I was really missing your work! Appreciate the topics you choose to make into tutorials! Keep them coming!

This was fantastic and I'm so glad you made it. Instant subscribe.

You were way over my head on most of this stuff, but you opened my eyes and made me want to get in there to start seeing what I could improve. The changes you made were pretty astounding.

This is an excellent tutorial. You fixed that footage wonderfully! This is where the video mechanics separate themselves from the video editors.
