In this Davinci Resolve 16 tutorial I go over several techniques to upscale your soft 1080P footage to crispy 4k. Using some of Davinci Resolve 16s best color grading features we can completely save bad or low resolution footage.

Indeed, one of the best instructions I saw on YT for a while. The key message you left with me: "You can make an HD clip look better with solid color grading and selective sharpening than a poorly postprocessed 4K clip." Fabolous how you get so much atmosphere from this little scene.

This is a very apples to oranges comparison. When you copied all of the nodes over to the supersampled version it was being sharpened twice via super sampling and your nodes. That's a big reason why it looked bad. While i agree that your process would yield better results, if you disabled the sharpening nodes in the supersampled clip and then compared, the difference would be less stark. This video should really be called, "grading log footage like a pro" cause your grade is exceptional!
