I just saw a video of a person hooking into a "sturgeon" and because that Muppet didn't set his drag properly for a huge fish, the rod snapped and the fish now has the hook, line, the broken part of the rod, and some tools

The best times of my childhood were fishing for pike. Awesome catch. I used a short stiff rod tho, worked wel for me in tunnels and climbing tru bushes and in trees.
