The only issue is the “complex” & “complex prop” algorithms colour the sound.

A way to get around that is to record at 3 or 4bpm slower, quantise the take and put the project back up to original tempo while keeping the algorithm in “beats” mode.

I know no one asked, but it took me years to work this out and I want to share it with the world

Once you get familiar with Ableton its just as fun if not more, for making beats aswell

Totally agree with this. I really love FL for making beats. But as soon as it comes to loop recording.. I did give ableton a try and really loved it. Especially the possibility to record different track length and play them together in a loop. (Without layering them out as how i had to do it in fl studio)

Logics Flex Time is great for guitar too. I use it on everything. makes lining up stuff so easy

I don't get the comments criticizing him for quantizing this. Your goal as a MUSIC PRODUCER should be to get your musical ideas and vision out and make something that reflects what you hear in your head, not become a master instrumentalist. Sure, that helps, but he's not saying this with make you better at your instrument.

To consider this "cheating" is just stupid.

you can quantize audio in logic too! tricky when more than one note is being played at a time though. Do you come across this issue in ableton too?

I’ve heard people really like using pro tools for recording live instrumental performances. Ableton I would wager is more versatile overall even if Protools is still considered the Industry Standard (weird title to hold in 2024 😅)
