About Cruel Summer:

that’s sad how kate became martins hostage 1 day after her birthday no wonder she hated her birthday that year

Anyone else think it’s possible that Jeanette & Kate did see each other, but it was before Martin locked Kate in the basement so Jeanette thought she was there willingly? Jeanette knows a lot of secrets about others that she has kept to herself so it’s plausible to think if she thought Kate was okay she would keep that secret as well. Then when Kate finally escaped it was just going to be this unspoken thing between them but Kate had resentments towards Jeanette over it & when she saw she had basically taken over her life made it worse & seeing her kiss Jamie sent her over the edge so she publicly named Jeanette as the person who saw her & did nothing to get back at her. That would explain why Kate was hesitant to go to the police or give interviews at first then changed her mind all of the sudden. She probably thought Jeanette wouldn’t do anything but she underestimated her & that’s why she screams when it’s announced Jeanette was suing her. Also, that could explain why Kate was in the chat room because she felt guilty about not being all the way truthful about the circumstances surrounding Jeanette seeing her. In this scenario technically both would technically be telling the truth but leaving out the parts that make them look bad.

so vince has been one of the only ones to consistently stand by Jeanette especially since it seems she kinda costed him his relationship with ben in a way... and i wonder if maybe he knows something too? vince could genuinely just be a really great and solid friend but it’s just a thought.

Kate’s therapist looks like Mallory’s mother. We assumed she was there for therapy but Mallory lies a lot.

Y’all it was Mallory! She literally told Kate when she first met her she hated her so much, and she probably hated her more after she felt like Jeanette left her behind to try and befriend someone like Kate and she also didn’t want Kate to listen back to her therapy sessions because what if one of her repressed memories is of her. Also Jeanette probably gave Mallory the necklace back and that would explain why it was in the house, but didn’t have Jeanette’s fingerprints

okay ladies and gents lets talk theories what does everyone think is going to happen?

a random one that just popped into my head is the idea that mallory saw kate in the window and said nothing because she disliked her so greatly. when jeanette became popular she kept yelling at her that "the town doesnt need another kate wallis" giving the impression that she is glad kate is gone. and also may explain why she is leaning so hard into the "psyco b*tch" idea of jeanette, to push her in that direction since she would want any attention off of her, and it would be easy to pin it on her since martin already told kate that her ex was with jeanette.

i dont think either girls did the bad thing that we're worried about. I dont think jeanette saw kate, and i think kate thought she saw jeanette in her fog. we've been shown plenty of times how sometimes kate is barely conscious in the basement and cant move. and this character of annabelle im assuming is her reflection. or if theyre going way off maybe its the spirit jeanette felt (but thats just a funny and non-serious idea)

i think the reason jeanette acts in such a way towards kate in 93 is because she is experiencing "do i want her? or do i want to be like her?" cause it seemed like she was jealous of both parties the first time jamie came up to kate in the mall and started kissing her. and that level of awkwardness just doesnt make sense for someone who wants to be like someone else. it seems like she has a bit of a crush. which would explain the scrunchie. and then for the "omg kate is missing" i dont think she was excited kate was _missing_ i think she was excited to have a secret piece of gossip about the apparent most popular girl in school. jamie and her naturally click better, which she started to realize when kate was gone, and i think they both seemed like goofy little puppies that were naive and excided about life. kate comes off as a lot more mature than that. it would make sense why jeanette at this point would be worried if kate randomly appeared again. im going under the assumption here that jeanette _didn't_ see kate of course. being so, jeanette is deeply in love and happy with this new boy, and the new friends she made were kates old friends. mallory incessantly bullied jeanette. and i think the biggest reason jeanette became friends with kate's old friends is because when her and jamie started hanging out she was naturally around them a lot since he is in their circle along w ben.

i like both girls equally and when reading my thoughts its important to remember than!

Okay I'm calling it Angela is Annabelle. Kate's OLDEST sister. Probably out of the house when Kate's parents got together. Who just so happens to be a detective. Brought in when Kate first went missing to keep things on the low (based off martin and joys conversation) Kate was there willing and unwilling when she snapped and went looney Martin had no choice but to keep her until he was sure he could let Kate go and she wouldn't tell. Until that is Annabelle found them and shot Martin. Another traumatic event Kate couldn't handle. She felt guilty so bad she locked it up. He was in love with a minor who jad lost her mind, it would ruin him. He ends up losing his life. The year book would show Annabelle her graduating year, Kate's dad's eldest daughter.

I'm glad that Kate is going to therapy. Even though her abuser is gone, months of trauma don't magically disappear overnight, so she needs all the help she can get.

Whomever dislikes this doesn't get that this is just a show and the acting is awesome. Also, it could be that they pressed a wrong button or went through trauma but come on. Why dislike it? If you don't like it, why watch?
