GT7 on PS5 PRO: FULL REVIEW + PSVR2 Testing

As a PS4 and PC player without a current gen console, I’ve never felt more compelled to waste money on a console as I feel now. This game in VR just might be my reason to buy a PS5 pro.

I had zero intention of buying a pro. I told myself that if they could eliminate all or at least most of the ghosting then Id buy one. After Sony dropped the Pro with no mention of VR support and PD not making a noise about VR support I decided to accept the blur until PS6 and thats hoping VR is still supported. After seeing these reviews I just bit the bullet because its worth it for the extra immersion

I would buy a PS5 Pro for GT7 in PSVR2 (which is hilarious, because I literally bought the PSVR 2 for GT7 BUT Polyphony needs to put the cart before the horse and start taking the Daily Races configuration seriously.

I mean, good god -- they have such an amazing 'platform' to work with in GT7, and for most regular players at this stage, the Daily Races is the main thing the game has to offer.... personally, it's the only thing I really use on GT7 because I just want to race online in a streamlined manner. Duh. Yet PD put zero interest in even making what's there interesting or varied (night time, dynamic weather, cool cars config races), let alone overhauling the thing which is long, long overdue. It beggars belief.

I play GT7 on the PSVR2 and after watching several videos like this hoping to see any info on this I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only one bothered by this on base PS5: The shadows on Nürburgring in VR mode have very clear "LOD" lines often only a few meters in front of the car, where the shadows switch from "high-res" to "blobby mess". Has this improved on PS5 Pro? I cannot be the only one noticing this? It's right in your face on that fairly popular track.

If you had the financial choice of PS5 plus PSVR2, or just PS5 pro, I wwould pick first option. Currently, you can buy the basic PS5 plus VR headset for price of Pro, how mad is that? PSVR 2 is awesome in this game.

Is there any chance that makes you able to film inside the PSVR2 lenses and make a comparison? Like you seem to be one of those very rare and yet objectively speaking technical enthusiasts that are very hard to find, so asking you is the way to go. Because on the original PS5 ive refunded the PSVR2 due to that device beeing unsharp and muddy, causing massive eye strain and headache after a few minutes already. So i would be very interested to get any kind of video or screenshot pictures directly comparing the picture quality out of the PSVR2 lenses, rather than recording software footage.

Because i cannot let go of GT7 VR experience. On PC there simply isnt a single well made, this much detailed, racing game. They are all the same, empty, no love ... so i would really like to see if im able to use a PSVR2 on a PS5 Pro, if i can get a sharp picture and not get an headache. Ive literally turned in the PSVR2 and got a Meta Quest 3 and now im sitting on racing games that simply arent good enough to be played lol.

Im not seeing $600 worth of improvements here. As computers get faster and faster, the improvements are harder to see. It's called the point of diminishing returns.
