Could you please explain the following to your Chinese supplier, Ping-Pong Fred. We recently bought one of your knapsack sprayers, which did not last long before the pump operating pipe broke, right next to where the pump rod is joined, weakened by welding. Using thin-walled piping is incorrect engineering. 1) We changed the pipe to thick-walled 16mm O/D pipe. Though there are 4 plastic sockets to support the pipe underneath the tank, only 2 are used, incorrectly. 2) We used a longer pipe to go through all 3. 3) Between the two supporting sockets the manufacturer used a split pin, which is a bad design. The manufacturer should have used a full-width spacer pipe, under the tank, with a nut welded on it fastened with a screw, so that the pipe could not slide to and fro. 4) The small bush for the operating rod should have a short rod, with the correct size hole drilled. Probably most users do not realize that they need to grease the top of the pump. If they do not and tighten up the nut, so that the pressure does not escape, the handle breaks soon or later. Grease is better than oil.
