My father is a lawyer and he handles a lot of these insurance cases, sometimes it makes me sick to stomach when I hear such cases where the insurance didn't honour the claim and the family suffers so much, but the good thing is Indian courts are very much in favour of customers and the judges bash these insurance like anything and make them pay through their asses.

My mama passed away in 1st wave of COVID and my 72 year old nanaji is still trying from all the sources to claim my mama's life insurance

I think Sir IRDAI should look into this and should make it mandatory for all companies to issue this document.
But sadly IRDAI is one the most corrupt and sluggish institute in India.

Time to talk on these issues now

That is why LIC is the best in settling claims. No irrelevant questions or requirements asked. Minimal investigations (that too on rare cases probably early claims).

Govt should introduce this law..
After a new policy (life/health/etc) is issued, the insurance company should be given 30 days to validate all the paper work, background, etc - post which they (insurance company) should not be allowed to reject any claim, based on paperwork, background checks, etc..

working in LIC
koi bhi Death claim agar 3 year proper premium time aate h Date of Death se last three years. No death claims will be rejected. As per section 45

हमारे कोर्ट कोर्ट नहीं हैं कोठे हैं वर्ना तीन सवाल में केस खतम हो सकता है। पहला सवाल कि इंश्योरेंस किसने दिया?? कंपनी ने। डॉक्युमेंट्स किसने जमा किए?? कंपनी ने। जब क्लेम के टाइम कागज चेक करते हैं पॉलिसी बेचते टाइम क्यों नहीं??
पॉलिसी देने वाले एजेंट किसके?? कंपनी के। जिम्मेदारी भी कंपनी की होनी चाहिए। और साथ में एजेंट की भी।

Wow this is absolutely good idea, if companies don’t find it economical they can even ask for a nominal fee for additional investigation, and give guaranteed insurance
Atleast the person who took insurance will be in peace of mind
