I would like to correct that Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are the English names of these Pokemon, but their original names in Japanese are Sawamular and Ebiwalar and they are actually based on kickboxer Tadashi Sawamura and boxer Hiroyuki Ebihara.

Dumb conspiracy idea. Unown is the Pokemon of Matter, and they were attacked by Giratina, the Pokemon of Anti-Matter, which resulted in it's initial banishment, which is mentioned in the Pokedex.

We know Unown have strong connections to Arceus, so yeah, alone they are feeble, together they are Creation Trio levels of powerful.
