I made this years ago after seeing your video. I use it all the time, and I continue to appreciate your contribution to my shop.

Did a variation on this (same Clickspring style) for a crowquill pen nib holder. I love the weight. Though version 2.0 gets a little hex knob threaded on the back end because, boy does it roll! 😂

I still haven't got around to making one of these - I did build your lovely fire piston - my first ever project. I did a great job thanks to your video and it works a treat!

My daily fix. Thanks much click spring!

I used hex bar stock, then they are more like a pencil and don't roll away.

Got myself a Myford ML10 and this was an excellent first project.

This was one of my first projects after getting a Sherline lathe, and I still use it with the same tip as when I first made it some 6 years ago. I also used this as a template to make a couple of ink pens that use the Pilot G2 inkwells, and I also keep those in the shop or with my notebooks. The scriber is indeed a great first lathe project. I need to eventually get around to making some wooden ones as gifts.

That's so elegant. If you're anything like me, the NEXT project (which I never quite get round to starting) is to make myself a slightly better lathe.

Like a grumpy old donkey my Myford refuses to die, makes the occasional braying noise and threatens to bite me every time I go near it.😁

But why a needle and not a sharpened TIG electrode?

Hi, what did you use for the scriber points?
