My dad passed away last Saturday and he had been turning for 10+ years. Went in his garage and found a bowl still on the lathe that he hadn't finished. Plan to finish it for him. Hope to be 1/100th the woodworker he was. New subscriber here. Look forward to watching more videos.

68 year old and my son just gave me a wood lathe. Never used one and watching your video probably saved my life. Thanks.

My grandfather used to do lots of wood turning while he was alive. Unfortunately I never had the chance to be taught by him before he passed but I have now inherited his lathe. Thank you for this video and for setting me on the right track to getting a good start.

I have a hearing issue that makes overlapping sounds difficult to understand. Would it be possible to get an upload of this video with no music? I really like how thorough your instruction is. I would love to be able to learn more from your videos.

I'm 70 and have just begun turning and I need all the help I can get. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 👍

This video oozes quality! The microphone, lighting, camera angle - the workshop is clean and tidy, ultra-clean. - With so much wood and wood-turning, i'd assume sawdust EVERYWHERE. But this... is like they cleaned it with a fine-toothed brush! The content and information is fantastic, thank you for sharing!

I began turning, roughly around age 14. My father was my trainer. Now I am approaching 70 years old, and still have and use my original lathe.

Very informative! I was recently given a nearly 50 year old lathe. I've been rebuilding it.. I haven't actually done any turning yet. Thanks!

Thank you so much Roger, for sharing your years of experience with the likes of myself, who, has been wanting to get into turning. All the videos I have watched skip the novices needs. Your commentary has found me well, and will continue to memorize all your info and prompts before I start out. Thank you so, so much. Thumbs up 100% for your time putting this presentation together.

This was one of the best presented DIY videos I've seen on nearly any subject. I felt I was almost just learning it in person.

Love learning from the elders
Never had a grandpa or dad to teach me any type of work men do
Always self taught and learning from men like these and wishing to pass down to my son and daughter and future grandchildren

I was just given a lathe by a buddy who knows I like doing wood work. I've always wanted one, but obviously they're expensive tools to purchase. I just wanted to say thank you, for giving information on tools, machines ect. But you do in a manner that is not "Buy this brand only" like I see some do. "Do your own research" I think were your words. I appreciate the openness to it. I'm writing like like 1/2 through the video, but I already definitely feel like I am stickin around on this channel for a while. Thank you again for your instructional videos and sharing your knowledge, much appreciated!!
