Summary of the tips:

3. Make notes of questions you got wrong in a test
4. Transfer questions to flashcards
5. Extra reading is important
6. Having an ideal essay for each topic (mark with teacher)
7. Flight paths happen! (getting gradually better)
8. Talk to your teachers / ask for extra help

That’s spooky - you and Eve Bennet both posted a “6th Form tips” video at exactly the same time. Seconds apart!

The 'flight path' point is so so important! Not only is it not sustainable to start off on a high, but also you can become complacent early on and not push yourself as hard in your actual exams!!

I've already graduated from school and university but I can imagine how inpirational these tips are for people who starts school in a couple of days.

Ruby, your videos are such a pleasure! Hello from Russia!

Set an alarm for this! I'm not going into sixth form just yet but I think I could probably incorporate and adapt these tips for the new school year! (I'm going into year 10)🦋 x

This is so helpful, i will definitely use these in the year. I was looking for a video like this by you only a few days ago and I found a video from a while ago! It was when you were on holiday talking about stuff you can do to prepare for school, i can remember watching that when it first came out❤️❤️

Ruby it was so lovely to meet you today. I wanted to speak some more but time got away with us all.

You are a lovely young lady who I think has a wonderfully focused mind and a beautiful heart.

I enjoyed listening to you on the panel, particularly as when I was younger (and even still), I very much enjoyed (enjoy) the process of learning. There is a wealth of new things to learn each and every day, even when you are a mother of two who has her heart and mind filled with empowering those two all the while as well.

I learnt new things from all of you today and, from you, I saw humility, courteousness, conscientiousness, empathy, compassion and especially kindness. Traits that are to be cherished in all our young people, if we just stop and take a proper look.

Thank you. We, as a family, continue to enjoy the process. From birth to death.

Yours Warmly,
Rose

Ahhh, A levels. Gosh I miss those. Cozy as always.

For anyone reading this:
For science, the CGP revision guides that are tailored to an exam board are really good, and worth the money. Ask year 13s for theirs when they finish.
For Maths and Further Maths, past papers, past papers, past papers. I did every available paper for my board (last exams on old spec) multiple times. The new specs don't have many papers, but you can ask your teacher about which old spec papers would be good to do.
For English Literature, read around your topic areas, keep all your notes organised, and do historical research about your pieces, even if context is not examined.

I disagree with Ruby on the keeping exam papers thing. I would recommend you, rather than keeping the papers, keep a spreadsheet of your marks and percentages. This removes the bulk of keeping loads of papers, while also knowing how well you did on individual papers. This really only goes for non-essay subjects. I would keep every essay you write.

In general, decide where you want to end up after A level, at the beginning. You don't necessarily have to know university and course, but keep in mind where you want to end up. I knew I wanted to go for top Russell group unis, so I knew I was aiming for A/A* in all my subjects. Definitely let your teachers know early what grades you want, so they are best placed to help you achieve that. Ruby was entirely right about asking your teachers for extra work. All my teachers said their favourite classes were their A level ones, because at that point all the students want to learn, and aren't being forced through. Teachers want you to take extra interest. They want to see you flourish, it's the best bit of their job.
