Hey there

Maybe it's because of the early release, but you have to press Shift + Ctrl + F3 BEFORE you click on express settings! Otherwise you have no chance to enter the audit mode and have to do a reinstall.

thx for the vid, I had to uninstall a bunch of pre-installed Apps from Microsoft Store becuz most of them had provision issue for other user. Then the sysprep works.

@latin phoenix, in Windows 7 the native backup works in Audit Mode, in 8 and later not. The reason I do Sysprep in 7 with /audit and /quit switches instead of /oobe and /shutdown is that in doing so I can continue by creating a system image still in Audit Mode using the Windows 7 native backup. When this image is then restored to a PC, it will start with a clean OOBE boot.

Because the native backup does not work in 8 and later, I shutdown the PC after the Sysprep, boot with Macrium boot disk (or any other third party imaging program) and create the image.

@Kari Finn. I have some questions regarding this tutorial please clear them out.

1. Why it is necessary to load-in install.wim inside of Windows SIM?Why not to capture custom .wim via imageX?Why I can't create custom .wim on existing running system....While creating .wim imagex shows a error msg. CODE 17.
2. Shall we need to shutdown sysprep first in case of making custom .wim?
3. The version of Windows I am experimenting is Windows 10 v.1511 OS build 10586.17. I can't have install.wim it's install .esd. I failed to get a free and working tool to convert it into .wim. Please suggest me some good tool.
4. Can I restrict the software packages eg:- Firefox, VLC in time of applying image?
5. Can we run Windows PE via installation disk of Windows by accessing .cmd at very beginning?
