I'll never work a 9-5 job again after getting laid off without notice. I'm starting a business on YouTube.

I lost my job and learned that Corporate America is toxic beyond belief. I can't work a 9-5 again after seeing people treated like objects and getting fired or caught in layoffs with no notice. I've learned that I can make a fulltime income on youtube, so I'm starting a business and becoming my own boss by making money online.

LOYALTY is a foreign word within ANY corporation.

You should have thanked that company for firing you. Joining the social media world full time will be one of the best things that will happen to you in your life. Let’s be honest: if that company had not fired you, you would not be making this decision now. Sometimes bad things turn out to be blessings. Salute.

Don't forget that being a YouTuber is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a lot of Famester of course to help) will always pay off at the end. Good luck to everyone, we are all going to succeed one day!!

The best job security is to create your own job.

I got fired 3 weeks ago. I started my fitness YouTube channel 2 weeks ago. I know it’s not gonna work in the short term but I’m happy connecting with people and sharing my experiences.

Companies just cycle through workers, it does not matter how hard you work.

The direct managers are always on vacation when their people get laid off.

If a corporation were a person, they'd be a sociopathy. Once you get hired, your on a stop watch and it's ticking until they let you go, so get things paid off, and get your life in order before it ends, cuz it will end....The signs were on the wall 3 months before it happened BUT when it did I was relieved, happy and giddy. In that 5 yrs I was at that company I managed to pay off my house and most of my bills. I received a severance pay and immediately filed for unemployment. I found another job 3 months later. I know this job will eventually end too cuz that's just the way it wks today. Don't waste your time taking things personal, they don't, it's business.

They want two weeks notice? They’ll never get that from me.

Your manger that you texted asking if he knew anything, he definitely knew and he lied to you.

My best friend got laid off right before their vacation, complete garbage of a company. Do the bare minimum, collect the money and leave corporate as soon as you can.

In today’s world, please always prepare for this. Also some companies hire people like crazy and 1 year later they need to layoff.

When I worked at Bank of America for almost a decade, HR was never on the premises and you had to call a 1-800 number which was routed to India for HR. But the day they laid me off, HR was on site! I’ll never be dedicated to a company after that.

I lost my job 22 years ago. I've never been able to get back in my field, age discrimination. One thing I wished I had done was a YouTube channel.
Anyone sitting on the fence do it. Now at 65 with limited income social security I have that famous 20/20 hindsight.

They always play dumb when they know you're about to get fired.

From my last experience I never take saving most of my paycheck for granted. I save most of my paycheck like my life depends on it.

These companies are terrible with how they lay people off.

I live below my means. No debt and low cost of living.

There definitely something going on and it’s bigger than what people may think.
