This is great I bought this for my Nikon D7500 and was finally able to figure this out and move the linked files to Blackmagic

FYI, when connecting Sync E to a Zoom H6 as you did at 2:14, you wouldn't connect it to the "out" of the Zoom H6, but it would need to be into one of the 4 inputs on the side of the unit to generate the timecode. The wonderful thing with using the H6 is all other inputs will also recognize the synced timecode in post later. These devices are my favorite to use for content creation at all times, even when I'm only using a Tentacle Track E and a single camera. I never have to worry about audio dropouts that had been plaguing me when making fishing videos in tight confines even. Nothing beats the Tentacles in my book. It helps speed up edits like never before.

Great Video. I just bought the system. Would you mind sharing the 1/4” mount you physically have connected to the Sync E. Thanks a Million if you can

Thanks for the easy explanation! Does anyone know if the only way to sync video and audio is using Tentacle's app? I edit on FCPX and it has a synching by timecode option. Thank you!

Super helpful! Would this still be helpful if I am just using my one camera and my Tentacle Track E recorder? What would you suggest if not this?

I have so many questions... How long will the tentacle export take if you are recording more than 100 clips collectively over an entire shoot with 2 cameras.. Do you have to export each xml file individually with each clip? Can you sync once, export once, and all cameras are synced perfectly? Can you sync multiple tentacle units to the app. Say you had 4 cameras?

Great vid! Say I have 4 gh5 cameras, 3 tascam lapel recorders, I would need 7 devices. I hook them all up before I leave for the day for syncing, am I able to unplug all the devices then and just leave them at home? Or do they need to be plugged in while using the cameras and recorders? Also, will turning the cemeras off and on throughout the day mess anything up?

I'm trying to use an on camera Deity D3 mic and use tentacle sync E. can I use an audio splitter or USB port for sync? I thought about trying the Deity D4 Duo which has an output port to see if that would work but I wanted to use a mic with a grain control. any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!

Nice video. Where did you find that neat little female thread-to-velcro adapter?

How does the scratch mic sound on the sync E? Similar to an on body mic or is it any better? Trying to decide if I want to bother with a splitter to hook up a proper shotgun mic for shooting weddings or not.

What's the recommended step by step procedure if you don't want to be constantly dragging over clips from the cameras in real time on set, but instead call for camera and audio recorder device cards during a break? Can I ingest all the files onto my drive, back them up, log them on my edit drive and then open the Tentacle Sync Studio, find the files and ask it to sync everything and then generate my XML for Resolve? Thank you SO VERY MUCH for any help with this workflow.

If you are using a field recorder that accepts timecode like a Zoon F6 with multicple cameras, is the besst practice to have all the mics connected to the F6 and Jam sync to the F6 and then connect a Sync E's to the cameras? Lastly, I'm not sure about the Tentacle Timecode tool workflow and how to output to Premiere Pro. It seems quite straight forward in the Studio app but not as much in the Windows app.

Great video! Super clear and informative. I have been eyeing these for a while. But I was wondering if you know the advantages of this system vs just using sync in Resolve. I've seen vids where Resolve just autosyncs videos, audios, from different cameras perfectly by audio analysis or timecode. Haven't tried it myself yet.

what is the difference in exporting as XML for premiere pro, or just exporting as a media file and then importing that into premiere? I find the XML just imports all of the recorded tracks, including the weird audio syncing sounding ones too....

Lets say Im syncing an Amira to an F6. What happens once I set my TC at 25fps, and then at some point I want to shoot a shot at 100fps. Does that mean I need to resync/reset the units when I switch back to 25fps?

Nice video! One question: why do i need to consolidate the files in the extra tentacle program? When i drop the clips into premiere, i could just match the time codes and have them synced ?

If you are shooting at 240 would you set it up to 30fps as 240fps is a multiple of 30fps?
