How to Unroot/Unbrick your Droid 2 Back to Factory ROM!

Here's how to unroot your Droid 2 back to factory if you've accidentally bricked your Droid 2 or want to return it for warranty, or "un-voiding" your warranty let's say.

Thanks so much without this I would've gone mad. Im assume the links are broken, so for hours i searched for the ones you used which eventually I found (admittedly I wasn't really sure what i was looking for). I dont typically use vista which was the only thing I had that was windows, the copy and paste is so idiotic. Finally I figure out how to switch because it wouldn't just copy to. But in the end I learned a lot and you as well as others have saved me a phone.

@vinceraptor You need to use RSD lite or a similar program on your desktop while your phone is in bootloader while connected to the the computer. It lets you use your desktop to flash your phone to whatever firmware you choose. Search and find Downgrade to the 2.3.20 Firmware. That is basically what you need to do to revert to the factory firmware, though you will need to update most likely if you use that older firmware.

Found this file, went through the process, battery died at my life... Today had to buy new battery (no one has my battery around me...) went through process, failed to flash first time. So I followed the steps of the video perfectly and everything seemed to go well except when the phone reboots at the end of the install it would boot back up into Bootloader mode. I would then unplug the phone from the USB cable and try to manually reboot it, but it would get stuck on the "red eye" load screen. I brought my phone into Verizon today (not telling them any history) and they performed a hard reset by holding the X button when turning the power on and it worked no problem.

Hi, very nice tutorial. All went well until the part on the RSD Lite when i flash the phone. It appears the

message: "Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Phone(0000): Phone is not compatible with

multi-interface super-file. (0x703b); Phone connected." The phone is from Brasil. I tried the global user

file but it is corrupted. Any ideas? Thanx!

So I started fresh on a different PC and did everything the video said to a T and my phone still won't boot past the red eye load screen. So it looks like my phone is dead. Question; why can't I just walk into Verizon, tell them my phone mysteriously stopped working and play ignorant? If they can't get it on how would they be able to tell I did anything to void the warranty?

@zedomax I tried it twice last night, but I'm going to give it another shot tonight. Everything seems to work perfectly until right before the phone reboots. I get an error message on my desktop saying the PC doesn't recognize the device connected to the USB port... then the phone reboots but stays in the bootloader mode. Maybe I should try it on a different PC!?!?

Question: I had android 2.3.4 and my idiot friend tried to root my phone and bricked it so i was wondering if this would work and if yes where else can i find the downloads because the links are broken. Help me please i really dont have the money to get a replacement phone.

What do u do when you never get asked to activate your phone?

I went through the whole process, which worked great, however, when it went ask for my google account, I had to connect it to wifi. Then, it wouldnt log on to the do you activate?

already did but it still doesnt work D: tried reinstalling the drivers, cables, windows, etc. someone told me to do a factory reset and with SDL reinstall the OS (Froyo or Gingerbread) but since im new to this i dont wanna do that :P

So, i've done all the steps, but for some odd reason my rsd lite says it fails after about 95% into checking the RAM settings...?

I have a droid 2 global btw, and i have used the other file (The droid 2 global one)..

thanks so far, im having a problem though, the eye keeps staring at me. and it wont go away. ive tried pulling the battery do you have any suggestions? plus im running on the droid r2d2 idk if it makes a difference

Aww did this and it bricked my phone.
It no longer has internet and I nothing happens when I clock settings
And it keeps freezing and it keeps force closing everything :(
I'm trying it again to see if I can fix it though

Mine is Error A5, 70, 70, 00, 1F. Its also displaying Battery Low Cannot Program, I don't know if that means my Battery is fried or It would give me different results if I get a new one of it.

As far as I can tell, this will now brick phones that have accepted an update to 2.3.4 pushed out spring 2012. If that happens you can unbrick if you can find a stock 2.3.4 sbf file.
