Pi is a mathematical constant and one of the most important numbers for the mathematics. In 1768 a mathematician named Johann Lambert was the first t o prove that Pi is irrational (i.e. it cannot be put down as a rational simple fraction).

Apart from the irrationality of Pi, scientists talk about its transcendence. Ferdinand Lindemann proved this theory only in 1882.

In our presentation you may find out such Pi facts:

- when was first the π symbol used in a mathematical sense?

- mystical things connected with this constant;

- what is understood under the term "Ludolphine Number".
