I go back and forth on ejectors. Sometimes I want a super survivable ship & add them, sometimes I feel like they're a waste of space. Usually I lean towards not using them, as I'd prefer to have the extra firepower instead.
Slightly related, did you know you can actually get 5 clip tetris with 1-meter loaders?

This thing should have railguns, as I have found that they complement plasma really well in destroying frontsiders, as plasma destroys HA wedges, which railguns are incredibly ineffective against and Railguns can send huge APHE shells into the the Frontsiders and destroy them, because Frontsiders tend to be compact and have less redundancy than broadsiders, perfect for an APHE railgun after the HA wedges are destroyed.

Hope it gets better soon, thank you for your FTD videos I have been binging them since I discovered this game 2months ago.

i always use ejectors, unless if i'm building smaller guns, it fits in easy given i use pancake 4-clip tetris for the majority of them (when i quickly learnt aps, i learnt with 4-clip and i just can't use 3 or less without it getting uncomfortable and a bit odd). one small thing to note, longer aps shell tetris tends to be less likely to be targeted than other weapon systems because there's much less blocks for aimpoint selection to lock onto (assuming the enemy is using cluster block targeting)

I have found that longer autoloader aps might be more efficient, as a 1m autoloader and clips need exactly the same amount of input feeders as an 8m autoloader and clips and thus is more volume efficient and chemicals shells scale with size really well. Also space taken by ammo ejectors becomes less problematic.

I actually tested APS fragmentation CIWS recently. It was damaging enemy CRAM shells and missiles, but it underperformed compared to all other available options.
Also, HE/Flak damage seems to ignore projectile armor. I don't know why, that's just what the numbers said during testing with 150-500mm shells.

At that size and velocity, with supercav, I would just go full kinetic myself. APHE is my go to shell, but there is a point where the AOE isn't worth it.

While 4 clip is the most cost efficient, when I went through the math I decided that the convenience of stacking autoloaders with 2 clip is worth the cost to me.
I forget the numbers off hand but the savings per m^3 wasn't excessive, and goes down with shorter clips when you add the inputs and ejectors.

How do you combine both local and ciws controller into one weapon together? I tried it myself but gave up after simply placing just a ciws controller and local controller
