The only thing deleting the mds will do is kill a little fuel economy, it in no way prevents it from eating a cam or contribute to lifter failure. The only real fix is to put a hellcat oil pump in to increase oil volume especially at idle. Also oil pressure and oil volume are different for folks that dont know the difference.

Huge thanks for this! I saw all the horror stories on YouTube. This made it easy as I was able to remove all 4 with this method easily on a 2007 Aspen. Thanks again

I want to thank you for this very helpful video, I was trying to remove mine, and they was seized. I wouldn't had thought that on a 5, 611 mile engine. If it wasn't for this video I prob would have destroyed my engine. Thanks again.

Don’t forget the yokes aren’t interchangeable, non mds lifter will have slop in the mds guide section of the yoke, use challenger 4 speed yokes.

thanks. the only other suggestions i found were to pry up with a screwdriver while twisting it. i broke one doing it that way. they are not cheap either. thanks for the tip and the demo.

I seen also, if the mds solenoid does break, screw a screw into the bottom half that gets stuck, and use the claw end of a claw hammer and pry it out slowly.
I mean if this hammer and wood method doesn’t work. Not trick btw.

If it breaks, give it a whack with a 7/8 chrome socket (it fits right over it) to loosen it, pull out the plunger, & screw an "easy out into it. Use carb spray to work into the O-ring seal (the reason it's stuck in the first place), & just twist it until it comes out! It's a time saver!

First time ever trying to replace one of these and it was not coming out and had read that they always break. Smacked that hoe, and it came right on out. Appreciate the tip, it helped me out.

What do you think about this case?

2015 jeep srt wk2

Had a failing lifter which i changed, it stopped the ticking noise that it had but still keep misfiring p306, when i changed the lifter (cylinder 6) i didnt changed the mds solenoid, when mechanics change for example bank 2 lifters(8pcs) they always change the solenoids as well? Maybe because i didnt change the solenoid is because i still get the misfire?
