some competent mechanics that used to wear the MOPAR shirts but got tired of the toxic work environment. They said to tap the top of the solenoid with a rubber mallet, it helps break the o-ring seal and keep the tops from cracking off 90% of the time. There is a $100 removal tool from MOPAR, but they never used them.

Kick ass video step by step has got me thinking I can do this skipping out in the mechanic that wants $2000 in labor

Another person commenting on another thread suggested tapping in the tops of the solenoids to loosen them before trying to pull up. The hardened oRings are the problem. Letting PB blaster or similar soak an hour is a good idea also.

I really enjoy the content on this channel! It is very interesting and informative! I learn quite a bit and it’s helped me to fix my truck myself. Thank you for sharing the content!

My symptoms was a misfire and lack of power ( I guess the engine was in a limp mode). Diagnosis was #7 cylinder MDS solenoid. And that was the problem. Truck runs great now.

Would it be a good idea to replace all 4 sensors since they do fail from time to time.

So there's no gasket between the intake manifold and the head? Also, cleaned the landing areas on the head but not on the manifold bottom?

Since you’re in there, you should change the VVT solenoid while you’re at it. They go bad often as well and are equally as annoying to change

Which solenoid is for cylinder 4 ? Would it be the second one back front the front?

Hello, I have a trouble code P1411, and cylinder 1 has start control performance issues, with the car shaking violently. Is this caused by the trouble code?

Is it basically the same for a 2016 ram 2500 6.4l?

I onw 2007 dodge ram hemi engine.. but when i put it on reverse.. there comes a loud sound like to metal plates hitting together. And it does it when the ingene is warm. If i put in reverse when is cold is does not do that. Any idea why it does that..
