First of all, anjeer is what we eat and the plant showns is ficus racemosa.
Second is that the crunch is due to the seeds and not due to the wasps

Known this since I was in 2nd std.. But that's the beauty of the nature.. The fruit cant pollinate without the bugs so in order to get the fruit you have to accept bugs as meal6

There are two different fruits. One is fig (ficus carica) or Anjeer/anjur that grows on smaller trees. Another one that grows on huge tree with inside insects. Ficus Racemosa has insects and is non-vegetarian. It is also called Audumber in Matathi. It is worshipped in Hinduism.

Contrary to popular belief, however, figs don't contain entire dead wasps. The fruit's enzymes actually break down the wasp, converting it into nutrients for the fig. Still, some vegans label this process “non-vegetarian” due to the involvement of an insect's life in the pollination process.

The fruit you are talking about is ficus racemosa and not the fig .both looks similar but they are different. I actually don't comment but here the confusion level have crossed the line . I hope im right 😅

the same Q was asked in NEET 2025, I remembered this video and and marked the statement saying fig is a non- vegetarian fruit as correct. But all answer keys are showing this as wrong. Got negative marking becuz of this😭😭. PLS DON'T SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION.
