The fig itself has digestive juices that break down the wasp. The fig has digested the wasp long before you digest the fig. Also it's a type of wasp that's completely harmless.

Besides the multiple inaccuracies, that’s not a thing at all for all figs. Most of the edible figs we eat are parthenocarpic and DO NOT need a special wasp to pollinate. The plant still produces figs that fully ripen. Let’s cut the bs please. The story of the wasp and fig is true only for certain species of wild fig in the Middle East, where this symbiotic relationship established in the ecosystem.

Noice.
That means I have the power of a fully grown man and a few dozen female wasps.

Always cut open the dried fig before you eat it. Sometimes there is mold inside. Same applies for dried dates.

The common fig that many people grow doesn’t have wasps in it because they grow in places without the fig wasp. The Smyrna types you find and even the common ones you find in stores though do might however.

After reading about this in a weird but true book as a kid I was scared to eat figs cuz I thought that the stinger would sting my tongue 💀💀💀

It depends on the fig variety too. Most of our plump figs are self fertile and have very small holes these fig wasps can't enter.

No, the common figs people usually eat don't. They don't even flower

Wasp pollinate the fig

It's a Kind of obligatory mutualism

The enzymes in the fig break the wasp body down so basically you just have wasp protein and not much the fig ate most of it 😅

There aren’t any wasps in figs. Yes, they go into the fruit to pollinate and or lay eggs, but they’re completely digested by the time the fruit is ready to harvest

Every fig you eat had a wasp inside. If the plant doesn't "devour" a wasp, it doesn't ripen to a fruit.
