In my opinion, the video is about self-acceptance.

The concept of the song & video actually does not linked directly. "True Love"'s song is basically about heartbreak, relationships in turmoil, while the video is mostly about dreams in turmoil. But, both contain the same "yearning" emotions, reaching something almost unreachable, that later ended by hope.

I think the video's message is to accept our own limitations, hard truths, and make the best of it. Indeed, beautiful work of art.
