I come from a Hispanic house hold and my mom said that this hack is more for collecting dust. Not so much repelling the dust from the area you are wiping down.
You also want to be sure that it is a used dryer sheet.

After the dryer sheet has been used in the dryer it is fantastic for removing dust anywhere! Just one swipe and it all the dust is attached to it. It’s like a Swiffer pad.

I use the used dryer sheet to remove dust from my baseboards. Works for me.

At first they repel dust but then it gets sticky due to residue left behind. So unless you want to dust baseboards every few days it's harder to clean off than regular dust.

Same with spraying fabric softener on upholstery.

It has to be an used dryer sheet. I never used a fresh sheet. 😊

I heard that you had to use a “used” dryer sheet. I definitely removes dust. It depends on how long the dirt has been there.

I use Snuggles dryer sheets, after I used the Snuggles dryer sheets in the dryer. I save them and use for my wall base boards. And other areas to clean dust built up. Perfect and clean. It works.

It might work, but eventually it will build up a sticky film, best to just wash normally.

Baseboards are the hardest to clean

Since i had some on hand, I used the dryer sheet to collect dust alongside the baseboard. Use a swiffer brush with a handle on the baseboard itself.

And Branden my grandma gave me a cleaning hack which is to rub a swifter sheet the ones that we use on an area we dust and it sticks to it

Haven't heard of this, but the concept doesn't sound as though it would be effective.
The dryer sheets we use are wonderful for deodorizing and scenting clothing drawers, shoes, linen cabinets though 😊
